As climate change becomes the forefront of global environment policy, many government leaders have been emphasizing the need for broad, large scale tree planting projects to alleviate warming. On the surface level, the planting of trees draws in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and also deposits it within social to reduce warming while also retaining water in soil. However, the dependency world leaders have put upon these programs have perpetuated this issue through extreme reliance in this one method. Many succeed in implementing tree planting programs but fail at sustaining them. This combined with not addressing consumerism as the root causes of global warming, dilute the impact of tree planting programs.
